Welcome back to another weekly update!

We may change these to be fortnightly, mostly so that we’re not rushing our contributors to respond to us. For the time being I’m going to try and keep it up as a weekly publication, and maybe even be on time next week!

Surprising no one at all (to the point that I considered writing this section ahead of time to save time) all of the ‘FurDu: Beyond The Beach’ tickets have sold out.

This year there were still some tiers available the next morning, contrasting with the mere minutes of last year, but it appears that all tiers of registration were sold out by the end of Sunday the 24th, about 24 hours after they opened.

This intrepid reporter didn’t manage to get one on account of being broke this week (don’t worry I’ll get better) but definitely recommends signing up for the waiting list if you missed out. Throughout the year people will generally go through phases of refunding registration as their circumstances change, so check it out when they open it up.

For now, those of us without rego are stuck on the beach…

Additionally: Tails of Terror tickets are still currently open, also on the FurDu website. For those unaware, Tails of Terror is a (newly) 3-day event, held in Brisbane around the end of October. It is primarily a dance/rave event that now also has a Dealers Den of its own.

Paws Outdoors is a NSW-based group that run various outdoor furry events, chief among them is a biannual camping event that usually also includes a rave.

Their second for the year, ‘Paws Outdoors: Tails Across The Wasteland’ was due to run this weekend but unfortunately had to be postponed due to circumstances outside their control. Many members of the community, including myself, were looking forward to this event quite a lot.

So, to the folks over at Paws Outdoors, we just wanted to say for your next one:

For real though, we just wanted to show you a bit of love and hope you have an easier time lining up the next one!

If you’re interested in camping/glamping, skiing, hiking, archery, mud wrestling and/or other outdoor activities, we would definitely recommend checking them out.

Since we’re just starting up, I’d like to get an idea which areas to focus on when investigating events. I’ll probably do this one at regular intervals to gauge relevant content. Let me know if you have good ideas for other polls!

If you want to win, I guess you’ll just have to share this with other people from your state.

I’d like to feature a variety of ‘Addenda’ content down here from across the community. Ideally this will be stuff that is at least partly interesting or relevant to all of you, some of which would be things like:

A variety of things, a variety of ideas. I really want to be part magazine, part gazette, part community noticeboard, and most of all relevant to all of you out there in the furry community.

There’s a handful of things I’m lining up already, but please please reach out if you have a fun or interesting idea. I love to collaborate.

It’s really been wonderful already hearing from people who are finding events and hearing about con tickets dropping because it was in last week’s edition. Let’s support each other and connect!
