Editor’s Note

Welcome to our first issue!

Scroll down to This Week to find out what’s on in your area, or check out Last Week and Addenda for write-ups and interviews and such. We’ll move some of these to a more permanent web space soon.

Please bear with us as we get ourselves in order, hopefully we’ll have things looking nicer by the next issue. If you would like to contribute in any way, including by writing or by informing us of upcoming events, please reach out at [email protected] - I also love to hear feedback!

Please also forgive how late in the week this issue was produced, we’ll try to have the next one out earlier now that we’re set up.

Community Submissions

We would love to feature community art here at the top of the newsletter!

For the time being, all we have is this logo I drew featuring Dinkum herself

If you would like to submit artwork for consideration, please reach out using the editor email address given above. The featured slot will also include an optional blurb and links to your socials.

We are also interested in community written articles and, of course, boosting community run events so please don’t hesitate in reaching out if you would like to be included!

Sticker Chicken

We caught up with Sticker Chicken at their table at the Melbourne Furry Makers Market this weekend to ask them our three burning questions.

Q: Do you have any new special types of stickers you’re working on?
A: I sure do! I’ve been planning on releasing holographic vinyl stickers, keep an eye out on the website and social media. I’m also looking into ‘eggshell’ stickers.

Q: What is the weirdest sticker you’ve printed?
A: Weird designs are my favourite! But I have to say, printing someone’s nudes was a very intimate experience, to say the least!

Q: Why is your table so small?
A: Size doesn’t matter! But in all seriousness, whenever I attend conventions or markets, I offer pickup and give away freebies. Once all the orders have been picked up, I like having the freedom to pack up and explore the event space, after all, my work is done!

Sticker Chicken is a queer, independent producer of high quality stickers who lives locally in Melbourne. They have a variety of shapes, sizes, and materials to choose from, and are an excellent option if you would prefer to buy local. All of their stickers are printed and cut in-house, and they are usually happy to organise in-person pickups at cons and other events they attend.

That’s all folks!

See you (earlier) next week!
